The Big ONE YEAR OLD!!

Well, here we are, finally caught up to the current date and we will try to keep the rest of our blog updated on a more consistent basis! We are so excited that Isabelle just turned ONE! We can hardly believe a whole year has gone by and our little, tiny baby is now a toddler. What an exciting year for us and her. We wish we could do it all over again because it was so much fun to watch her grow and mature into this little girl. However, we know there are many more exciting moments to come and we can hardly wait to watch her. She has brought love, laughter, and joy into our lives. Everyday is different. Isabelle makes waking up in the morning a wonderful thing. She makes our day so bright and full of life! We love her tons!!

Here are some fun facts about her at one year old....

• She weighs 17 lbs. 11 oz. (5th percentile)
• She is 2 feet, 5 inches tall (48th percentile)
• Her head is 17 ¼ inches in diameter (16 percentile)
• She is growing well, even though she is on the tiny side. We have been given the go ahead to give her whole milk. We will slowly be weaning her from me and the bottle. I have to say I’m kind of sad to part ways with the bottle and the breastfeeding. It is so comforting to hold her and cuddle with her while she chugs down her milk. Jamie and I will definitely miss the precious feeding time with Belle, but I’m sure there will be other joys to come!

For her first birthday we had a joint party since Jamie and Belle's birthdays are only a couple weeks apart. We went to a pizza restaurant called Pasquini's. They were so nice and gave us an entire upstairs room to ourselves for the party. We had pizza, beer, and salad. It was perfect other than the fact that Isabelle got a cold the day of her party. This was the first time she has been sick all year and, of course, it's the day of her party. It was still fun. She was such a good sport and, even though she was feeling sick, she not once let out a cry! We had a great time hanging out with all our friends and family and thank them all for coming to celebrate with us!

Here is a photo of the cake table. Michelle actually made the cakes, which I know most of you are shocked to believe knowing the terrible cook/baker that I am. Notice the fruit tart in the back. Made that too after one catastrophe (and a little help from Jamie).

Blowing out the candles...Since Belle wasn't up for eating cake and opening presents at the party, we decided to wait until she was feeling better. After a few days, she had another private party with mom and dad and boy did she have a great time! Here she is digging into her cake....
